Clickbait: The Newest Who Done It

Baby… Baby…If ever there was a reason to have Netflix it is now! Clickbait is worth a binge day as you’re not going to want to turn off the tv. All 10 episodes leave you asking a new question and wondering who in the world killed Nick Brewer.

Clickbait quickly gives a look into the dynamic of the main characters of the show. Nick Brewer, his wife Sophie and their two sons Ethan and Kai seem like the perfect family. The show starts off with them hosting an intimate backyard birthday party for Nick’s mother. Very quickly you are introduced to Pia, the headstrong sister who has an affinity for starting trouble. You can tell she has a strained relationship with her mother and brother’s wife.  Pia is about to become a true asset to this series as she is the first of the family to discover Nick has been kidnapped. And here starts the plot….

Nick goes viral in a video holding signs that say “I abuse women” and “At 5 million views, I die”. The clock is ticking because if you’ve ever watched the first 48 you know you have two days of finding someone alive before the chance of them being dead increases.  Of course by the end of episode 2 we find out Nick is dead and shortly afterwards secrets about Nick’s marriage and online double life become the forefront of the investigation to find the killer.

Number 1 suspect: We find out that Sophie cheated on Nick with a colleague from work and ended the relationship 6 months prior to his death. There is video of a scuffle but he is quickly ruled out as a suspect as he has an alibi.

Number 2 suspect: Nick works as a physical therapist in the athletic department of a college. One of the volleyball players begins to tell Sophie about suspicions she had about Nick and a student. Suspect number 2, Matt, Nick’s colleague swoops in swiftly to shut the student up. He is absolved of being the murder although he was involved in a complaint with a one of the volleyball members.

Suspects 3 and 4: So remember I told you Nick was living a double life online. So come to find out Nick has a whole bunch of profiles on dating sites. He has promised these women that he’ll leave his wife for them and they would be one big ole happy family. We have Emma, Sarah, and Mandy. Emma shows up to tip everyone off about Nick’s online life. Sarah has killed herself and leads us to suspects 3 and 4 and Mandy tips us off to the fact that none of these women have never met Mat in real life.

So suspects 3 and 4 end up being the brother and best friend of Sarah. They kidnapped Nick and made the video and were all set to kill him until Nick casted doubt on the validity of the photos. Nick manages to escape the best friend and the brother lets him go. I would like to take this opportunity to point something out that I believe is lost – while the photos and pages of Nick were not really his, the very first one was… you’ll understand once you finish watching!

That brings us to the actual killer. Someone you wouldn’t have thought of. Someone who played an insignificant role in the entire series. NO ONE SAW THIS COMING and if you say you did you are not a truther (drake and josh reference)! Ethan and his cyber girlfriend have found the address of the killer, Kai finds the address takes a baseball bat to….I guess murder them and here is where I pause.

Kai has acted like a big baby all season and like..I get it he’s a child and his father was just killed and there’s tons of speculation and rumor going on but you try to take on a killer? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE! Anywho he ends up kidnapped by the killer.

So who’s the killer? You really want to know…..? I’m sorry you’re just gonna have to watch and see. Yep,  I’m not telling you. You deserve to be just as surprised as the rest of the world.
